The Search Form

CMSimple_XH offers search form which can be placed in the template:

<?php echo searchbox();?>

Using the search form will search the complete content of all pages and return a list of pages where all words given in the search form are contained1).

Since CMSimple_XH 1.5 all plugin calls are evaluated before the search is run. However, CMSimple scripting is not evaluated, as this might trigger undesired behavior such as page redirection even when this is done via the respective page data tab. If you want to offer the search form on your website, make sure that none of the plugin calls has such undesired side effects.

Alternatives to the built-in search form are Advancedsearch_XH and the Google Custom Search Engine.

1)
this is so since CMSimple_XH 1.5; formerly the search string was treated verbatim
